Kyoto Kendama Top

This handmade toy looks like a Kendama but spins like a top. A playful combination of two traditional Japanese amusements that are hundreds of years old. Today, there is only one artisan left in Japan who is skilled enough to transform yards of ribbon into colorful, twirling teetotums. The fabric is wrapped around a bamboo stem by hand which makes each Kyoto Spinning Top unique. An ancient craft tradition revived for modern times.
