Another lyrical creation from one of our favorite young puzzle designers, Osamu Kashu. The Lazy Wolf is inspired by a fairy tale from the Brothers Grimm in which the villain swallows a piece of chalk to disguise his voice... Yeah, we're not exactly sure how that works either. The wolf in the story later sleeps through some pretty grizzly surgery while a mother opens his belly with scissors to save her seven children. The secret compartment of this adorable wooden wolf is also hidden in the belly. The fur is made from walnut, the stomach is decorated with a patch of creamy magnolia, and the nose is a tiny ball of cherrywood. Not an especially difficult puzzle but a very appealing one.
Made by hand in the Hakone mountains of Japan.
