Gianni Rodari

Gianni Rodari (1920–1980) was Italy’s most celebrated 20th-century children's author and a pioneering educator. Raised in northern Italy, he began his career as a primary school teacher before becoming a journalist. He revolutionized children's literature with playful wordplay, surrealism, and socially conscious themes, ultimately winning the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1970.
