The Campfire Headphase was one of the first electronic albums we fell in love with, opening a door that would eventually lead us to artists like Tycho, Bonobo and countless others. Boards of Canada blend hazy electronics, warm acoustic textures and wandering melodies into music that feels at once nostalgic and strangely unfamiliar.
It’s an album that rewards close listening but asks nothing of you—equally at home accompanying an afternoon of creative work or filling the foreground when you give it your full attention. Dreamlike, transportive and endlessly inspiring, it remains one of our favorite places to begin.
