Elevator Puzzle Box
Inspired by the movement of a video game character sprinting up a series of elevators, this inventive Karakuri puzzle offers both motion and mystery in its design. Its mechanism draws from the creator’s earlier work, Bean Bag Drawer (RF-36), first conceived over a decade ago.
While that original piece offered no clues to its secret, this new edition invites discovery through subtle patterns etched on its surface—visual hints that guide the solver toward unlocking the hidden drawer. The internal partition allows the box to open partway with ease, but fully revealing its secret requires careful attention to the design’s rhythm.
Larger than its predecessor, Elevator Run captures the playful ascent of an elevator’s motion—an elegant blend of craftsmanship, nostalgia, and interactive storytelling.
