This approachable assembly puzzle is great for beginners and collectors alike. Designed by legendary mechanical puzzle master Oskar Van Deventer, Tetrahedrane is a metal update to a previous design called "Screwballs."
The gentleman at Brass Monkeys have taken the original version and added their signature heft to the construction. Despite its small size, Tetrahedrane weighs in at over a quarter pound!
The puzzle will arrive assembled and the goal is to unscrew all six of the 2" stainless steel rods from the four brass caps. Of course, there is a bit of a twist to the assembly. The rods and caps feature a mix of left-handed and right-handed threading so they will not screw back together without a little bit of thought and planning.
According to Oskar, the name Tetrahdrane is based on a yet unsolved chemical mystery, but we have confidence that almost any puzzler will be able to conquer this challenge.
