Lawrence Sullivan, a Holland-born magician with 23 years of sleights and flourishes up his sleeve, took it upon himself to raise the bar on playing card deck standards. With input from William Kalush, director of the Conjuring Arts Research Center, the smallest details of an individual card were redesigned from the ground up.

The Taiwanese factory that produced Legends has a history of printing cards for Asia's casinos, and partnered closely with Sullivan to refine their existing process and create a premium deck. Cards are cut with precision, yielding sleek, clean edges and a uniformly white border, so executing certain conjuring techniques are made easier. Card stock is ultra-thin, yet stiff, designed to be broken in with each use. Printing registration is sharp and bold. The finishing coat is smoother, but less slippery than standard brands, and adapts to your card-handling style within a couple hours use.

Sullivan's concept behind Mark Stutzman's artwork was to create something subtle, yet filled with detail. A unique blend of Asian and Western mythology, Sullivan and Stutzman eschewed the minimalism or trendy pop art that typically adorns custom decks, integrating a classically bold look with modern elegance.
