Overview
Eames "Kite" Playing Cards
Made in collaboration with the Eames Office. Eames "Kite" Playing Cards take inspiration from a tissue-paper kite designed by Charles Eames in 1950. The simplicity of form and whimsical color-scheme were drawn directly from the original artifact, a high-design toy that reminds us to “Take your pleasure seriously.”
Eames Playing Cards come in a letterpress printed box celebrating the house Charles and Ray designed and built.

Charles & Ray Eames
Charles Ormand Eames Jr., a nearly-licensed architect born in St. Louis in 1907, and Bearnice Alexandra “Ray” Kaiser, an abstract painter born in Sacramento in 1912, are cemented into the canon of 20th-century design. Since uniting in 1940, these partners in life and work have been internationally recognized at the forefront of the design, architecture, filmmaking, and furniture communities.
