These sumptuous kinetic sculptures feel like magical artifacts worthy of a modern shaman. German artist Jack Mankiewicz has elevated the classic "wobble-stone" or "rattle-back" to a poetic level of aesthetic perfection. Spin the sleek ellipsoid in the wrong direction and it mysteriously stops, rocks, and begins spinning the other way as if guided by unseen hands… Lovingly carved and polished from exotic wood over the course of several days, the surface of each Chembongo is as smooth as glass and the lines of the form are universally pleasing to the eye. A treasure for the knowledgeable collector of oddities.
Heirloom quality craftsmanship. Available in two sizes in varying shapes and woods - distributed at random. Made in Germany.
