This finely-crafted Illusion Ring may appear to be a piece of jewelry but once the ring is set in motion, appearances becomes very deceiving. The metal band seems to flutter and spin in impossible ways. The ring seems to tie itself in knots or spin like a carousel while gliding forward like a ghost. The illusionary effect even seems to change when viewed from different angles or in different lighting conditions! A powerful kinetic optical illusion that fits in the palm of your hand and is perfect for sharing with friends.
Created by Japanese mathematician, toy inventor, and artist, Dr. Akira Nishihara, and inspired by the Lissajous Roller created by Bill Gosper, this design was produced exclusively for Art of Play. Available in two colors: Gold or Silver. Made in Japan.
