Poemotion is an interactive collection of graphic patterns, hand-drawn by Japanese artist Takahiro Kurashima.
Static images spring to life in this innovative and hallucinogenic series of animated design books. Each page is printed with what appears to be an abstract pattern of various colors and shapes. Only the included "reader" can reveal the hidden animations. Lay the special film atop the printed images to discover the true nature of each design. Slide the film back and forth and the geometric patterns come to life—circles spin, stars twinkle and waves vibrate with surprising energy and detail.
Famous curio-collector Tim Rowett calls Poemotion, "The best example of the Moiré-effect that I have ever seen." In fact, these three books utilizes the same animation technique as the popular children's title Gallop but while the technique may be simple, the sophisticated design and premium production quality raise the Poemotion series to the level of fine art. Printed in Germany. Three volumes available.
